WASHINGTON, D.C. (Feb. 19, 2025) – Farm Journal Foundation is pleased to release its 2024 Impact Report, covering milestones and major events from the past year.
Highlights from the report include:
Bringing Ag Policy Discussions to the Farm: Farm Journal Foundation hosted in-state events with federal policymakers to educate them about the real-world impact of investing in agricultural research and development.
Developing Champions on Capitol Hill: Farmer Ambassadors, Veterinary Ambassadors, and staff held more than 100 meetings with members of Congress and legislative and administrative staff in 2024, highlighting the need to support agricultural innovation and rural economic development issues.
Amplifying Farmer Voices at Global Events: Farmers should be included in international discussions on global food and nutrition security. We worked to elevate their perspectives at events including COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan, the UN General Assembly, and World Food Prize.
Supporting Veterinary Workforce Development: Our program addressing the U.S. shortage of rural veterinarians kicked off educational pilots at nine universities, and three states joined our State and Community Readiness initiative. Veterinary Ambassadors did stellar work educating leaders on Capitol Hill and beyond.
Building a Movement in Conservation Agriculture: We are partnering with the Rwanda Institute for Conservation Agriculture (RICA) to encourage farmers to use practices that promote soil health, and to develop the next generation of agricultural leaders in Rwanda and beyond.
